Winter: X-Wing Alliance - лучший (на мой взгляд) ЗВ симулятор. Но вышел он в 1999 и его графика, конечно, уже устарела. но в сети появился сайт XWAUpgrade. Этот сайт должен решить проблему со старой графикой и должен привлечь к этой игре молодёж.

Tolan: Можно вопрос как раз по поводу XWA и этих самх апгрейдов? У меня Альянс собран с этого сайта. Попробовал установить апргрейды - Альянс отказался работать. Удалил апгрейды - Альянс начал работать без звука, только с soundtrack’ом. Удалил Альянс. Теперь не устанавливается - отказывается работать даже autorun.

While ground-based squadrons are not uncommon, TIE spacecraft are most commonly carried aboard and launched from larger Imperial vessels, such as Star Destroyers. Built for fire-control duty, the TIE/fc transmits precise targeting information back to its fleet. Finally, the TIE/gt features an enlarged hull for carrying torpedoes and bombs. This model was popular in pre-Endor times, however over the years it has, for all intents and purposes, been replaced by the TIE Bomber. TIE is an acronym for Twin Ion Engine, and therein lies the secret of the TIE design's incredible combat success. Each ship's electrical/ion thrust system requires but a tiny amount of fuel, minimising the vessel's mass/inertia quotient to the point that it can make high-speed course changes that are simply not possible for other ships. The large, hexagonal solar array panels to port and starboard provide power for propulsion initiation and weapons fire, as well as serving to conceal the ship's cockpit module from enemy weapons fire and damage scan analysis. There are three variations of Standard Imperial TIEs, and at least six variations of these. The Emperor's Hammer Strike Fleet affords supplying its elite pilots with more advanced fighters, though in general, TIE Fighters are still the most common fighter in the Empire. They are cheap to produce (hence their great number) and operate quite efficiently, with two SFS L-s1 laser cannons, which may be operated individually, or fire-linked. The original TIE Fighters possessed no ejection systems or defensive shielding for the pilot, instead relying on the maneuverability of the craft to evade enemy fire. After the Battle of Endor, when Imperial resources were no longer as vast and limitless as they were during the height of the Emperor's rule, the Imperial remnants began adding shields to TIE Fighters. The starfighters are no longer expendable. For the Empire to continue as a viable force, it has to conserve its weapons of war.

The enhancements provided by Shadow Works allow a more controlled and flexible approach by using warheads to quickly down shields or turbolasers, then using the Ion Cannons to disable a fleet in minutes. A single Spectre could conceivably devastate a squadron of CRVs or a pair of FRGs in the hands of a skilled pilot. Planetary defence would be an ideal use for such craft, as starships would be susceptible to sub-light speeds and limited intra-system manoeuvring. Manufacturer of the Star Destroyer (and many other ships). KDY has long wanted a crack at the snubfighter market. Since the TIE Fighter had been the fighter of choice for Navy planners, there was little chance, but their project teams, working closely with the new Emperor's Hammer Executive Officer and the Dark Jedi of the Dark Jedi Brotherhood, have developed a design that has been on the back burner for years -- this craft's capacities are actually increased if piloted by one knowledgeable in the dark side!

As such they became fairly popular with law enforcement agencies, who however boosted its possibilities to be able to pursue criminals into space. Something which MandalMotors improved upon with the next version. (the mk.2). With the start of the Clonewars they were upgraded to become fully functional starfighters (the mk.3) before the design was left entirely in favour of its sucsessor, the Pursuer Enforcement Craft - which was designed as a starfighter from the start. When landed, the wings can be folded up to the sides of the craft for more efficient storage; when folded, two Interceptors can be stored inside a standard 2000 cubic metre transport container. Because of this their use in the Empire continued in a different role: Close Air Support and Anti-Armour fighterbomber launched from AT-ATs. They even saw action on Hoth in this fashion. To be able to take down armoured vehicles the two regular laser cannons on the wings were replaced by a heavier one up front. (the mk.4) The Empire soon after replaced these with newer designs. They can however, still be found on many planets in the Outer Rim, in the hands of law enforcement agencies, Rebels, Pirates and bounty hunters. Name: Kuat Systems Engineering CloakShape Fighter Weaponary: 2 Concussion Missile Launchers 2 Laser Cannons Kuat Systems Engineering's CloakShape fighter (or CS fighter) is an outdated space and atmospheric starfighter that still finds use on backwater worlds and in private arsenals. While it lacks the speed and offensive punch of more modern craft, the reinforced hull makes the vessel quite sturdy for a starfighter. CloakShapes still in service often find use as system patrol craft, smuggler blockade vessels and in anti-piracy support actions. The fighters have respectable atmospheric performance, but their small power plants make them unsuitable for deep space combat. The CloakShape is a surprisingly simple design - so much so that few ships still in service have gone unmodified. Modularised compartments and universal adaptors allow the ships to be fitted with virtually any aftermarket system: heavier weapons, larger fuel capacity, or more powerful thrusters. The popular add-on is the Curich Engineering's rear wing and stabiliser conversion kit; it is so common that few people realise that they aren't part of the original fighter. These fins not only provide additional manoeuvrability, but allow a hyperdrive sled to be rigged into the CloakShape. Still, a CloakShape has its limitations, as amply shown by the one which pursued the Millenium Falcon over Nar Shadda. Like the Z-95, its relative slowness allows even heavy weapons, such as those in "Chug's chute," to target them with deadly accuracy. The modifications being performed to the CloakShape fighters serving with the Emperor's Hammer will include modifications to the thrusters, giving much higher manoeuvrability and power, heavier weapons and shield capability... There are even rumours that the cloaking devices designed for the TIE Phantoms will be incorporated into these sleek fighters that serve equally well in orbit around the Empress Teta or high above the plains of New Laconica or Sif...

The I-7 Howlrunner is the first design from Incom since it was reorganisaed by the Empire, and while the company's legacy as a "Rebel" company hasn't endeared the Howlrunner to many Imperial pilots, those who view the design with an unbiased eye will admit that it is a quality product. The Howlrunner is streamlined and is as effective in atmosphere as vacuum. It can be launched either from orbit or a ground base and can pursue enemies without any loss of performance. Named after a wild carnivorous predator native to the heat-baked sands of Kamar, the Howlrunner is famed for its tenacity and ferocity; Incom integrated these qualities into the fighter. Few sorties have been fought between the I-7 and its predecessor, the X-Wing, but military analysts on both sides are keen to see just how the current Incom designs stack up against Incom's original X-Wing. This new vessel contains enough storage capacity to make it function as a transport ship, but also has the benefit of sophisticated weaponry and shielding. In essence, this vessel can serve as both transport and escort -- simultaneously. The Star-Galleon-class Frigate takes the place of two ships, thus saving the Empire credits. Previous Imperial transports were unarmed or lightly armed cargo ships that could not compete against starfighters or powerful capital ships. They needed the protection of escort Frigates or some other type of combat craft. However, the new Star Galleons can carry equivalent amounts of goods while protecting themselves from the ravagers of the space lanes. A combination of concussion missiles and turbolasers creates a decent fire perimeter. In addition, the vessels are designed to repel invaders intent on capturing their store of goods. Up to 300 troopers are stationed aboard a Star Galleon. The interior of these ships bristle with anti-intruder defences. The troopers, for example can make use of fortress-like emplacements that line the inner hallways and corridors from which to defend their ship. Individual sections can be sealed and held by the defenders, creating pockets within a Star Galleon. One of the more interesting features of a Star Galleon is the cargo hold. Placed in the very center of the craft, the hold is actually a seperate vessel that can detach and be jettisoned into hyperspace for collection at a later time. A built-in homing device allows Imperial agents to track the hold as it randomly jumps across the hyper-lanes.

Name: Kuat Drive Yards Sovereign-class Super Star Destroyer Weaponary: 500 Heavy laser Cannons 500 Turbolaser Batteries 100 Tractor Beam Emplacements 75 Ion Cannons 5 Gravity Well Projectors 1 Axial Superlaser The Sovereign A less powerful design of the Eclipse-class has been created named the Sovereign-class (it still overwhelms the original Super Star Destroyer design). The Emperor envisioned a fleet of these vessels. The first of the line is the Sovereign. Other potential ships in the line include the Autarch, Despot and Heresiarch. There are also 75 AT-ATs, 200 ST-ATs, dozens of support shuttles, assault transports and escort shuttles, two full legions of stormtroopers, and 5 full garrison bases stowed on board to meet any planetary assault needs. The Axial Superlaser The main weapon aboard the SSSD Sovereign is the axial superlaser: a spine-mounted superlaser modeled on the main weapon of the Death Star itself. The Death Star's prime weapon was composed of eight individual lasers that could focus together, generating enough power to destroy an entire planet. By comparison, the Sovereign carries only a single laser, but recent focusing and generator advances make this ray much more powerful than the units used on the Death Star. The beam packs enough destructive power to shatter the most powerful planetary shields and sear whole continents in a flash. The axial superlaser can be fired up to eight times per day at nominal charge and once per day at full charge. A full charge would destroy any planet in the Galactic Empire... Imperial Gunners are some of the best trained fixed-mount weapon specialists in the Empire. Their advanced tactical combat training and enhanced targeting systems linked to their helmets make them extremely accurate and deadly foes.
