Darth Postal: Activision and LucasArts confirm that the Jedi Knights will rise again SANTA MONICA, Calif., March 30, 2007: Four years after the best-selling Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy took the FPS genre by storm, LucasArts have finally revealed that the millions of fans crying out for a continuation are not being ignored. The later adventures of Kyle Katarn and his fellow Jedi will be depicted in a new multi-format adventure currently only known by it's working title: "Dark Forces: Praxeum". The player will take on the role of a currently unnamed Jedi Knight and will travel across several worlds, completing various missions. A pre-game menu will allow the selection of many custom elements ranging from species, appearance, outfits, lightsaber, and several voice sets. Prominently affecting gameplay will be the new inventory and skill systems, allowing players to utilise various tools and upgrades during their missions and upgrade their Force abilities depending on the situation. "We wanted to shy away from the precedents set in Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy," claimed Simon Jeffery, President of LucasArts. "Instead, we revisited Dark Forces 2 in order to expand on our older philosophies. Many inherent features of Dark Forces 2 will be reintroduced, effectively placing the player in a living, changing world rather than a linear chain of levels. Problems which only had one solution before will now have many, and objectives won't care how you fulfill them, as long as they are ultimately fulfilled. We want the player to control their own destiny and be immersed in a world without rules and without boundaries. Hopefully, we'll be able to deliver a true Jedi experience." Raven Software will not be developing this title, with LucasArts instead opting for in-house development. The game will be based on a highly modified Doom 3 engine utilising Havok physics, which will give our developerment team an inherent ability to recreate reality as they see fit. "Dark Forces: Praxeum" is expected to be released Fall 2008 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, with a spin-off title following the story of the main antagonist released for the Nintendo Wii shortly afterwards. The game will be published and distributed by LucasArts in North America, whereas Activision will handle distribution in the rest of the world. evgi: ужас.. просто ужас... полностью уничтожают все святое.. 1)делают не рэйвен 2)делают под консоли 3)на движке doom3!? ака бамп маппинга будет уйма и все будет выглядеть какбудто маслом намазали(для меня в зв играх это нетерпимо)
